my city, my town, my block, my hood.

February is almost gone- March is less than a week away and our time in Seattle keeps getting shorter.

This past week Josh and I had a blast hanging out with good friends from back home- Bethany and Karen.  Like with every guest we have had- we plan out their time, making sure we hit all the essentials of Seattle.  As we made our way around the Emerald City this phrase kept replaying in my mind over and over again..."my city, my town, my block, my hood".  It is from a rap song we heard shortly after we first arrived in WA- and it has stuck with us ever since.  Seattle has become our home, our city, our town, our block and our hood- so much to the point I get all sentimental on the inside when I see the downtown skyline.  BUT having these ladies in town made us excited for all the people we will get to do life with once again!

Not only was it a joy to spend time with the ladies, but also to be a part of an epic proposal.  Robert surprised Karen by flying out to Seattle and unexpectedly showing up at the Olympic Sculpture Park to ask her one simple question, "will you marry me?".  Josh and I were truly honored to help plan and be present on such a significant day of their lives.

Life is full of transitions, changes and surprises BUT Josh and I have come to rest in the fact that amongst it all Jesus stays the same.  Pray for our transition from Seattle-ites to Minnesota-ites.  Pray for Robert and Karen from dating to engaged.  Pray we all remember and live like Jesus never changes.

Here are some pictures from Josh and I celebrating Valentines Day at the Aquarium and Market, plus from our amazing time with Bethany and Karen:

UTTER shock...to quote her, "What are you doing here?!"

Congrats Robert and Karen!
