SOUND

Well it was another beautiful day in the Northwest- the mountain was out this morning.  Today Josh and I ventured on the light rail right outside our apartment building to the downtown area.  We walked the market and checked out a lot of shops we have never seen before.  The market was very lively today and one of my favorite things at the market are all the flowers.  They sell beautiful flowers and huge bouquets for 10 bucks- I have yet to buy one but I got time!

The marching band- I want one of their scarves!
We also strolled down to Pioneer Square, which is a more “art-zy” part of town.  As we were walking there we began to notice more and more people wearing Sounders gear.  The Sounders is Seattle’s professional soccer team that plays in the Seahawks stadium, CenturyLink Field.    As we got to the square there was a huge crowd gathered of Sounders fans.  They all began cheering, jumping and waving their scarves in the air.  It was quite a sight to see because then they all started “marching” to the field together which is right down the road from the square.  They also had a marching band at the back of the crowd playing tunes as they walked on to the stadium.

Sounders Fans
Early this evening we went to the Open House of the “Art House” associated with Urban Impact.  The house is intended for youth to come and have dance lessons, do music recording and eventually have a gallery space.  It was sweet to see all the youth and their families come out for this event.  They had some awesome food- to our delightful surprise and a program.  The youth got up and did some hip hop/street dancing, singing, rapping and spoken word.  All the students and leaders were very talented.

Tired from all the walking we did today we turned in early to watch “We Bought A Zoo”.  Very cute, a good family movie- I highly recommend.

Tomorrow we are going to check out the Mars Hill church that meets in the Union Gospel Mission across the street.  There are 3 churches associated with the ministries we will be working with that we are going to check out and choose between to become our home church while here.  Please pray for that decision- that we would make a wise choice!

Thankful for: the flowers in the market and a free meal! J

Miss you MN- but not your summery storms, stay safe and sleep soundly!
